Booklegger Shells Wonderful World of Golf - Volume 25 Movies
Shell's Wonderful World of Golf was a weekly television series that aired from 1962 through 1970 and was the first golf matches ever filmed for a television series. This video is a golf match between George Knudson and Al Geiberger played at Victoria Golf Club, in Canada and aired March 2, 1968. The Victoria Golf Club is located on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, and features six par threes. It is not a long course, but its unique bunkering and the prevailing winds off the Pacific Ocean make it a fine test for a golfer of any level. George Knudson was Canada's gift to the golfing world, and he represented them graciously. George was always considered on of the game's finest ball strikers and put together 12 PGA Tours to prove it. He represented his country in nine World Cup competitions, winning the individual trophy in 1966. Al Geiberger has been one of the game's favorites ever since he joined the PGA Tour in 1960. In a career that spanned 27 years, Al won 11 PGA Tour events, including the 1966 PGA Championship, and played on two Ryder Cup Teams. 60 Minutes.
