Shell's Wonderful World of Golf was a weekly television series that aired from 1962 through 1970 and was the first golf matches ever filmed for a television series. This video is a golf match between Kathy Whitworth, Carol Mann and Sandra Haynie, played at Royal Bangkok Sports Club, in Thailand. This match was the first Shell match to feature women golfers, however it was never released to air on television. The Royal Bangkok Sports Club in Thailand is a 5,500 yard, par 66 course that features small, flat greens and unique bunkering. Kathy Whitworth began her professional career in 1959 at the age of 19 and went on to win 88 official titles. A student of renowned teacher Harvey Penick, she was named Golfer of the Decade by Golf Magazine in 1977. Carol Mann burst onto the woman's circuit in 1961 and won 38 official events over the next 21 years. She ranks eighth on the all time money list and was one of the founding members of the LPGA. Sandra Haynie put together 42 official victories in a career that spanned 30 years. One of only two women to win both the LPGA Championship and the U.S. Women's Open in the same year, she earned her way into the LPGA Hall of Fame in 1977. 60 Minutes.
