The excitement is filling the air as Xiamen counts down to the 13th China Telecom Esurfing - Harbourview Cup Golf Tournament. Xiamen’s leading business and sports community warmly embraces this yearly tournament tradition which precedes back to 1997.
Last year’s event received an attendance of nearly 200 of Xiamen’s businessmen along with participation from the noted Xiamen Golf Society (XGS) and Association for Xiamen Expatriates (AXE). The tournament’s registration fees and contributions were donated to the May 12 Sichuan earthquake reconstruction and reached more than CNY 20,000.
This year’s event will continue to promote the social charity spirit through a donation by contributing the entire amount of the golf registration fees together with the fundraising during the course of the tournament. This donation is to go to the “Qinghai Yushu Earthquake Zone” for reconstruction work. The donation ceremony will be held during the grand celebratory Awards Dinner at the Millennium Harbourview Hotel Xiamen where the donation will be given to the Xiamen Red Cross Association to deliver to the disaster stricken areas.
