The second annual Lenders and Vendors for Senior Charity Golf Tournament proved to be better than its pioneer event.
The said event which was held last August at Langdon Farms in Aurora raised a total of $75,000. This is $31,000 more than the funds gathered in last year’s event. All proceeds from the said event will benefit the non-profit organization Salem-Keizer Meals on Wheels Senior Townhouse Inc.
The check was presented to the organization’s president Ted Stang during a luncheon. According to Stang, the whole group is simply overwhelmed by this year’s gift.
The contributed amount will be used to fund the organization’s home delivered meal program, which caters not only to senior citizens in the area but to adults who suffer from illness or those with disability.
