Haig Point Golf Course Reopens after Restoration

MONDAY, 26 NOVEMBER 2007

Haig Point’s private community 20-hole golf course finally reopened. This golf course is located at Daufuskie Island in South Carolina.

The said course was closed down back in January in order to undergo restoration which costs about $5 million. The project was spearheaded by none other than internationally acclaimed golf course designer Rees Jones.

In a statement made by Jones, he said that they are attempting to put together and enhance the course’s unique character, which was first seen 21 years earlier.

The course’s renovation project includes approximately 250-yard expansion, additional greens and rebuilding of the bunkers.

Meanwhile, Haig Point claimed the number 71 spot in Golfweek’s best residential golf courses.
