Waynesboro Gets First Municipal Golf Course

Waynesboro will be getting their first ever municipal golf course after city commissioners recently agreed to the purchase of the old Green River Country Club.
According to City Manager Victor Lay, the purchase of the former country club was set at $110,000 and includes a nine-hole course, driving range, practice green as well as a clubhouse.
The city manager also said that the city already have plans for the renovation of the course starting with the replacement of the greens, from bent grass to championship Bermuda.
In addition Lay reveals that city officials are already looking forward to opening the municipal course by next spring.
