Juli Inkster's defense of her title of her Safeway International starts today at Superstition Mountain in Arizona. Although she has proven herself time and again with 31 LPGA Tour victories under her belt, she will be challenged by 143 others who also aim for the top spot in this weekend's competition. The challengers include last year's second finisher Sarah Lee, Lorena Ochoa and three-time Safeway International champion Annika Sorenstam.
Inkster stole last year's victory from Lee who led the second and third rounds of the competition. The native of Santa Cruz, California came in from behind to finish two strokes ahead of Lee with a 15-under-par.
