Mickelson Wins at Pebble Beach
MONDAY, 12 FEBRUARY 2007
Just when everybody thought he was slowly slipping out of the world's rankings, Phil Mickelson came back with a win at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. He shot a consistent under 70 shots save for the third round to win by five shots with a 20-under-par.
Next to Mickelson was Kevin Sutherland, followed by the rookie John Mallinger, who trailed the leader by 6 shots. The win is Mickelson's 30th PGA Tour victory. However, what's more significant is that he bounced back from being at number 6 in the world rankings to 4th place. Somehow, all's well again for the erstwhile world number 2, after taking a break from the game for several months.
