World Golf Hall of Fame Induction Today

MONDAY, 30 OCTOBER 2006

The class of 2006 will be inducted today at the World Golf Hall of Fame in St. Augustine, Florida. The inductees are Larry Nelson, Vijay Singh, Marilynn Smith, Henry Picard and Mark McCormack. Among the inductees, only Singh is the non-American being a native of Fiji. Meanwhile, McCormack was better known as a sports marketing although he did play in the 1958 US Open Golf Championship.

The event will begin at 6pm. Presenters include Hall of Famers, Gary Player, Kathy Whitworth, Beth Daniel and Ted Forstmann who is the Chairman and CEO of IMG Worldwide, of which McCormack was the founder. Arnold Palmer, IMG's first client, will speak in behalf of the late McCormack.
