McDowell Leads First Round of Open Championship

Irish golfer Graeme McDowell captured the lead yesterday in the first round of this year's Open Championship at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Hoylake, England. Graeme, who shot a six-under-par yesterday, is trailed by two other Europeans Greg Owen and Anthony Wall who both ended the round with a five-under-par. They are joined by defending champion Tiger Woods, Miguel Angel Jimenez and Keiichiro Fukabori in second place.
Meanwhile, Ernie Els and Jim Furyk are currently tied at seventh place along with several others. Phil Mickelson, on the other hand, is tied at 20th place along with Rod Pampling.
