Tips on Carrying a Golf Bag
If you choose to buy a Carry or Travel Golf Bag instead of the other larger golf bag types discussed in the Golf Bag Types section and after considering the factors on Buying a Golf Bag in the Golf Bag Buying Guide, it will be very useful to know how to carry it properly.
In this section we give some basic tips on using a Carry Golf Bag:
- Place your Golf Bag on the ground.
- If you're left handed stand the Golf Bag next to your right side. Do the opposite if you are right handed.
- With the strap facing outside, grab the top of the strap, near where it connects to the bag, and lift the Carry Bag to shoulder height. The thick part of the strap should rest on your shoulder.
- The bag is now set off the ground on your shoulder. With the hand that's closest to the bag, push down on the top of your Golf Clubs to make the other end of the bag rotate up into the air.
- Keep your hand on the heads of your clubs to keep them from knocking together when you walk.
- You can use the other hand to stabilize the bottom end of your Carry bag.
- The bag should be set almost straight across your back.
- You may want to invest on Club Covers for your Golf Clubs.
The game of golf already puts considerable stress on your arms, shoulders and back and you do not want to do anything to increase the strain on these body parts between your swings. We hope this article has helped you learn how to carry your Golf Bags.
