Golf Bags - Types
Your Golf Bag of choice depends greatly on the amount of storage space you need and whether you are going to carry your bag yourself or have a caddy or a Golf Cart. If you intend to ride the cart on your Golf rounds, it won't really matter if your bag is very heavy. But if you plan to walk all the way, then you will want to bring a bag that is easy to carry. There are different Types of Golf Bags designed for each type of golfer. In this section, we will have a short look at the different types of Golf Bag:
Staff Bags / Tour Bags
Staff Bags or Tour Bags are the largest amongst the Golf Bag Types. They have enough storage room for a complete set of 14 Golf Clubs and generally have a lot of pockets for all other possible Golf Equipment that you might want to take with you on the Golf Course. Professional golfers generally use Tour Bags as they have a caddy who carries all their equipment. With this in mind, they can choose to take all the Golf Gear they want while giving sponsors as much space as possible to place adverts on their bags. Good Tour Bags are made out of leather or other high quality materials and are rather expensive.
Cart Bags
Cart Golf Bags are smaller than Tour Bags but they are relatively bulky for a golfer to carry around the Golf Course without the help of a caddy or golf cart. Cart Bags got their name because they are designed to be used on a Golf Cart. Cart Bags have less pockets and general storage space and make use of lighter materials making them less cumbersome to carry around. Still you may want to go for an even lighter bag if you want to carry your gear comfortably around the Golf Course.
Travel or Carry Bags
Travel or Carry bags are the smallest Kind of Golf Bag. These bags are mostly made of nylon, plastic and other lighter materials. Travel Bags are designed to hold the basics: the Golf Clubs, few Golf Balls and other small accessories. A Carry Bag is the best choice if you prefer to carry your own bag as you play Golf. Travel Bags vary in sizes, models and prices. Special small-sized Travel Bags for juniors are available as well. Many Carry Bags have features to increase their ease of use even further. Some might have backpack straps enabling you to carry your gear as a backpack. Many come with a handy stand, also called Stand Bags, that make your golf bag stand up in an angle allowing you to easily get your clubs.
