Golf Tees - Types
Tees are arranged at different distances from each Hole. Depending on which Tee you are playing from the distance and thus the overall difficulty of the Golf Course changes. Some Tees are closer to the hole, like the Women's Tees while Championship Tees are a lot farther. This section gives you a brief description of the types of tees you may be playing from.
Red Tees - The Women's Tees
These Tees are set off by red markers. Red Tees are the shortest distance Tees and are designed for average women players, and for younger or beginning players of either sex. For Golf Beginners, it is very acceptable to play from this tee. Playing from the difficult tees will just make your game less fun. Women's Tees are set as the forward distance on your scorecard.
White Tees - Regular Tees
Most Golfers play from the Regular Tees which are set off by white markers. In a Par-three Hole , the distance from the Tee to the Hole is no more than 180 yards. This hole distance is set at average or the standard and middle distance in your scorecard.
Blue/Black Tees - Championship Tees
Championship Tees have the most difficult and longest holes. These Tees are set off by black or blue markers. Blue Tees are in the Medal and Tournament distance set in your scorecard.
Knowing the types of tees will help you in deciding which tee you should play. There are various types of tees and it is important that you know what type best suits you. Study carefull the features of Red, White, and Blue/Black Tees, especially the distance covered.
