I have always loved golf. Now I want my grandson to start training. Is 5 yo too early? (and impractical, as my daughter says, to be spending money for a 5-yo boy's training?)

Hi! I have a daughter also who likes golf. I think it's because she sees how much i love the sport. She started training a little before she turned five. The key is you don't force it on kids. Make sure your grandson wants to learn.

in line with sending young kids to golf training, would it be practical to buy them expensive gears and equipment. what did your daughter have the first time she went training?

One can never be too young or to old in the game of golf. I've seen on TV and read a few magazine articles that the youngest golfer to ever play in a major is an 11-year old girl. Can you believe that?

Hey, there's even this 5-year old kid who is the youngest ever to hit a hole-in-one. I think he's from UK and he made the record in Cherwell Edge back in the late 90s.

exactly.. so having your 5-year-old grandson start golf training isn't such a bad idea after all... you'll never know, he might become the next tiger woods...

Hey, there can be some truth to that... Those kids who start to get interested in a sport at a very young age does have a chance to make it good and someday be among the world's top players...

I believe that kids can learn at any age how to swing, putt, and most importantly have fun using a golf club and ball. If you get your kids to start young, I'm quite sure they will thank you later.

I think his age is ok its better he start to learn at young age because
small kids learn faster. But you must see to it that he like ypur idea
or if not your jsut wasting your time and money.

Yep, I agree. Age 5 years old can start their training already. It really doesn't matter as long as he's very much interested in playing golf.

Yeah It will be better if you will allow your grandson to play golf at his early age because maybe it would help him to become a good golfer someday.

for me...age doesn't matter because as long as an individual knows and loves what he is doing then, he'll be good at it..

i wished i was trained when i was younger.. i could have been a pro now.. oh wel,, yeah, if he likes golf, give him the opportunity to train while he still is young.. if he develops the passion, he would definitely be thankful of your efforts..

It is better if you will encourage kids to play golf. The earlier, the better..

For me it's really great to train them at their young age so that their talent would be enhanced. They would be able to love it too. For my own opinion too about buying an expensive gear is not practical. Why don't you choose the gear that's not so expensive and not too cheap. Buy expensive one when they are responsible enough to take care of it...God bless in playing golf with your kids.=)
