About us: a history of Rawlings Golf
Delta Golf has a long history in the manufacturing of golf clubs. In fact, we're one of the ten oldest golf club companies in the country. Through Delta Golf, its subsidiaries and its OEM divisions, we've made in excess of 22 million golf clubs. Many people have played clubs made by Delta Golf, without knowing it! Companies such as Ram, PGA, Spalding, Victor, Striker, Dynacraft, Austads, Faultless, Heavy Hitter, Lynx, Burke, Holiday and PGA First Tee have come to depend on Delta Golf's extensive knowledge for help in manufacturing their clubs. It's the behind-the-scenes experience that we feel sets us apart from many companies.
The original founder of the company, Rocco Morisco, worked literally night and day in the golf industry for many years. He worked at night for Sportsman's Golf, which is now known as Ram Golf, and during the day he worked for Lamkin Grip. Despite his two jobs and four kids, he still found time to hand make putters in his spare time at home. This eventually led to the formation of his own company, Imperial Golf, in 1966. The other principal owner of Delta Golf, Paul Neumann, was a tool and die manufacturer who had an interest in head design. He started Golfco Inc. in 1967. Delta Golf started as a partnership between these two men 18 months later in 1968. The tradition of a family owned and operated golf club company continues to this day. Joe Morisco, Rocco's oldest son, is the President and CEO.
Today, we have added the Rawlings brand name, which is recognized throughout the world. This line will consist of golf clubs, golf bags and golf balls. Randy Turner, who has 25 years experience in the golf and sporting goods industry, will head up this division.
New companies come and go, but Delta Golf continues to manufacture quality golf clubs year after year. Early on, Delta Golf marketed itself to country clubs and off course pro shops as a more economical yet very playable alternative to pro line clubs. With Rawlings added to the mix, we proudly continue this tradition to this day.
